  • An extremely viral message is circulating on social networks and WhatsApp.
  • Signed by hospital staff from different cities - from Bordeaux to Rodez - according to his version, he says that the next two weeks will correspond to the "peak of the [corona] virus".
  • It is actually a false message, denied by several of the hospitals mentioned. But confinement obviously remains in force until at least April 15.

Would hospital staff from different cities in France have come together to spread the same message about the coronavirus? This is what one would think of reading a warning relayed massively on Facebook and WhatsApp, and which emanates, according to the version broadcast, from hospitals in Maubeuge (Hauts-de-France), Bordeaux (Gironde), Le Mans (Sarthe) or Rodez (Aveyron).

“The staff working at the hospital would like this message to be disseminated to everyone; from tomorrow, do not leave the house and for bread, if you can freeze (sic) because the worst begins: the incubation date is respected and many positives will start to come out and many people can contract it, it is therefore very important to stay at home and not to interact with anyone (sic). From March 23 to April 3 we have to take care of ourselves because we will be at the peak of the virus […] We will be in a stage of maximum infection, ”says this text - some versions of which mention the dates from March 27 to April 9.

But it is actually a false message, which does not come from the hospitals concerned.

FAKE OFF

Several hospitals have directly published a disclaimer on their Facebook page. Like the Rodez hospital, which relayed the text to emphasize that it "does not come from the CH of Rodez" and call not to relay it - while recalling that "the rules of containment and barrier gestures obviously remain de rigueur ”.

The Le Mans hospital center also denounced "false information", as did the Pierre Oudot hospital center in Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère), deploring this "fake".

Contacted by 20 Minutes , the CHU of Bordeaux confirms for its part "that it is not at the origin" of the message attributed to it on social networks. This does not prevent containment from remaining as topical as it was a few days ago, and until it was lifted, to stem the spread of the virus in France.

A message repeated again by Edouard Philippe this morning, the Prime Minister having warned against "the extremely high wave" which "is sweeping over France". Before announcing, this Friday afternoon, an extension of confinement for at least two additional weeks.
