Many people across Asia wear masks, trying to protect themselves from Covid-19 disease, caused by the emergence of the newly infected Coronavirus.

In Europe and the United States, we find that wearing masks is less common, but many ask: Should they wear masks during the epidemic?

What the World Health Organization recommends is that if you are in good health then you only need to apply the muzzle in two cases:

- If you are caring for someone with Covid-19 or suspected of having the disease.

- If you cough, sneeze, or suspect that you have Covid-19.

The benefit of gags is to catch the spray spread by coughing, sneezing and breathing, which are the main transmission routes for the emerging corona virus.

There are two main types of gags:

Those used by surgeons, which are cloth strips that are worn on the nose and mouth, and masks that are more attached to the face and are sometimes described as breathing masks.

The second type of mask, like the N95, provides good but incomplete protection from gastric spray, while the more sophisticated type, N99, provides better protection, but some find breathing through it difficult.

Classification (N) is related to the ratio of particles with a diameter of at least 0.3 microns that the muzzle was designed to prevent. The muzzles N95 stop 95 percent of those particles while the masks N 99 stop 99 percent of them.

Some gags have a valve at the front to help prevent wetness that accompanies exhalation on the inside of the muzzle, which makes it wet and more vulnerable to penetration from the virus.

Wearing the masks is effective only if accompanied by washing hands repeatedly and not touching the face.

The muzzle should cover your mouth and nose without any gaps between it and the face.

Avoid touching the muzzle as much as possible.

When the muzzle becomes wet, instead of a new one, do not wear the disposable masks again.
