On Thursday, March 26, the KinoPoisk HD platform unveiled the first episode (a total of 16) of Roman Volobuev’s series “The Last Minister”. This project has entered the line of exclusive service products.

According to the plot of the series, right during the next meeting, the Minister of Prospective Planning dies (in reality, such a position does not exist in the Russian state apparatus). The "gray cardinals" performed by Fyodor Lavrov and Alexander Ilyin Sr. are hastily looking for a worthy successor in the vacated chair, a kind of "active idiot" who can ruin the useless department by the end of the fiscal year.

This characteristic includes a man named Tikhomirov (Yan Tsapnik) - the former mayor of the fictional town of Malaya Pyshma, who, by absurd chance, allowed the complete destruction of the village entrusted to him. Tikhomirov is an ideal candidate for the role of puppet.

The official is unaware of the true motives of his patrons. He wants to regain his reputation and in all seriousness is going to improve the lives of ordinary citizens. Let his voice hardly be heard at cabinet meetings (Tikhomirov is destined to be the last, hence the name of the series), the hero intends to promote useful initiatives to impress the country and colleagues.

Under the leadership of Tikhomirov, a number of notable characters are working.

This is a pretty, naive trainee Sonya Skvortsova (Sofia Lebedeva); her mentor, forever pregnant, and therefore overly emotional secretary of Ingeborg (Anna Shepeleva); the absurd director of the external communications directorate Dudar (Aleksey Zolotovitsky), who during his service managed to establish contact only with the publication “Crosswords & Patterns” (unless, of course, one does not take into account the dubious connection with the scandalous journalist).

The second deputy minister, Ilya Vikentiev (Sergey Epishev), obsessed with beekeeping reform, has no special weight in society. But the first deputy minister Ksenia Nechaeva (Olga Sutulova), in fact, is the only one who understands the issue. However, ambition does not allow her to be satisfied with the place of "deputy": Nechaeva would prefer the role of head of department. These and other subordinates of Tikhomirov are a kaleidoscope of characters that can usually be found in an average office far from politics.

Outside of his work, the minister also has “everything standard”: a successful wife (Nelly Uvarova), a rapidly growing beautiful daughter-daughter (Polina Fedina) and a young impudent lover (Olga Dibtseva). The last actress wants to be noted separately: Dibtseva rarely gets large roles, but she looks very dignified in modest, but characteristic images - we recall the same “Serf”.

In general, the cast has been selected extremely well - especially taking into account the task of showing the characters. It is important that, in conditions of some theatricality of the action, almost all the artists behave naturally and behave reliably.

Tikhomirov is not the best husband and certainly not the most effective manager. His motto: "But how not to yell, if such a result, when you yell." The minister is trying to be closer to the people, complaining about the rise in price of oysters, and before subordinates he sets an ambitious, but almost impossible task to issue 20 initiatives a day.

The story is generously flavored with all sorts of oddities and incidents: as Volobuev explained, “The Last Minister” is “a story about people who“ want the best, but it turns out as always. ”

The creators of the series tried to add as much time as possible to the fictional details - and, of course, beat them in a satirical manner.

Quite unambiguous associations are called by the Dro /// b channel, and the employee of the ministry Vikentiev wants to make a business trip not just anywhere, but to an economic forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Finally, the first initiative of Tikhomirov is the lifting of the ban on the use of profanity (i.e., mat) on television, radio and in the cinema, which caused a wide resonance in 2014.

Under the slogan “The problem of the country is the excessive regulation of what does not need regulation”, the minister is trying by all means to win the love of citizens. But his initiatives are destined to fail.

Not without a share of stereotypes in the film: for example, the activities of the Department of Culture are described as lawns, bushes and work for food, important issues are resolved in the restroom, and the characters quote movies from zero.

However, “The Last Minister” is interesting just because its creators offer interesting topics for thought through humor and grotesque, while maintaining a balance between fantasy and references to Russian reality.
