The Algerian Minister of Communication, Ammar Belhimer, the government’s official spokesman, revealed today, Thursday, that the Chinese Minister of Health Chen Zhou has recommended to the Algerian authorities and the rest of the Arab countries, the use of chloroquine, used to treat malaria, in treating people with the emerging coronavirus (Covid 19).
Belhimer said, in statements to local media, that the Chinese official said that the medicine should be used for seven whole days. He stressed that this experiment proved successful in containing the situation in China, and treating many of the injured.
Belhimer, along with the Algerian Minister of Health, Abdel Rahman bin Bouzid, along with Arab health ministers, participated today, Thursday, in a virtual seminar with the Chinese Minister of Health.
According to the same source, the Chinese minister attributed the reasons for the spread and spread of the Corona virus in his country, before the situation was contained, to the delay in taking preventive measures.
On the other hand, local media reports said today that China has decided to send a medical team and advanced health supplies to Algeria to help it contain the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.
The sources revealed that a plane belonging to the Algerian state airline will go to the Chinese capital, Beijing, to bring a medical team consisting of 12 doctors and eight assistants with advanced medical supplies proven to be effective in treating the Corona epidemic.
It is noteworthy that, as of Wednesday, Algeria recorded 21 deaths out of 302 confirmed cases of the Corona pandemic.
