China has built a field hospital, run entirely by robots, to give medical workers a break. The robots - developed by Cloud Mind in the smart field hospital - perform tasks measuring the patient's temperature, heart rate, and oxygen levels in the blood.

This step also aims to reduce the spread of infection, due to the ease of sterilization of robots, and their inability to transmit diseases to patients.

Patients wear smart bracelets to track their vital signs, robots can provide patients with food, drink, and medicine, and some robots perform small dances to entertain patients.

A team of researchers has developed a robot that can take swabs from patients' throats, reducing communication between patients and hospital medical personnel. "Doctors have found robots and smart devices useful in monitoring patient vital signs remotely without direct contact," Bill Huang, founder and CEO of Cloud Mind, told CNBC.

According to CNET, the smart field hospital is preparing for the re-emergence of Covid-19 infection in the country, and Cloud Mind has deployed more than 100 robots in Chinese hospitals, hotels and schools.

The news comes after China reported no new cases of Covid-19 infection since Thursday 19 March, which is a promising sign that the country has started its long road to recovery.

Robots can provide patients with food, drink, and medicine, and perform small dances to entertain patients.
