Recently, the Mengla Police Station of the Forestry Public Security Bureau of Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province received a report from the villager Bo Moumou that there was a "strange bird" who wanted to turn in.

The police investigation revealed that in 2017, Bo Moumou picked up two strange bird eggs in the forest area. Then he took it home and put it in a chicken pen to hatch. One of the eggs hatched a strange bird with green eyes on its wings. Looking at the strange shape of this bird, Bo Moumou kept it at home.

Recently, Bo Moumou learned that it is illegal to domesticate wild animals without authorization, so he took the initiative to call the forest police to surrender the "strange birds".

It was identified that the bird kept by Bomou was named a peacock pheasant, which belongs to the national first-class protected wildlife. Because of his voluntary surrender, the local Forestry Public Security Bureau imposed an administrative penalty for confiscation of the peacock on Bo Moumou, who domesticated wild animals without a domestication breeding license.

Subsequently, the police of the Forestry Public Security Bureau handed over the peacock salamander to the wildlife rescue and protection station to receive assistance. (Correspondent Chang Zongbo Xie Xiongbo)
