It is with great sadness that we learn today, March 24, 2020, the death of the Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Dibango following the Covid-19. A tall figure, a frank smile and a characteristic communicative laugh. In its memory, VMDN re-broadcasts the special program dedicated to it in 2019, on the occasion of its 60 years of career.

He is always accompanied by his favorite instrument, his saxophone, with which he has crossed Africa and the whole world for 60 years. 60 years during which he has never stopped meeting, marrying and sharing notes and rhythms from Africa and elsewhere. He is even said to be the inventor or precursor of what has been called World Music. In short, it is a legend of the music that we received, on the occasion of its 60 years of career.
