INTERVIEW

Asterix and Obelix are orphans. Albert Uderzo, one of the two "dads" of the famous comic strip, died on Tuesday at the age of 92. Anne Goscinny, René's daughter, co-creator of Asterix, paid a vibrant tribute to the work of the two men on Europe 1. "My father and Albert created more than a work, a myth. Asterix will survive them both for a very long time. To hear my father's voice, I must turn the pages of an Asterix album. will do the same to hear Albert's laughter, "she reacted emotionally.

"Since Sylvie (the daughter of Albert Uderzo) called me, I have seen my father's death 42 years ago (René Goscinny died in 1977). I remember the dignity of Albert Uderzo when my father died. I lost a father, but he lost his best friend, his play and work companion. "

"My father was very different from Albert, and yet everything united them"

Anne Goscinny also spoke of the special relationship between her father and Albert Uderzo. "My father was very different from Albert, and yet everything united them," she recalls. "(Albert Uderzo) continued Asterix with the memory of the complicity and friendship which united him to my father. They were two friends as we see nowhere. They were very different from each other : one loved the countryside, the other loved the city, one loved animals while the other fled from them, "she says.

"I have memories of Albert in his country house where we often went on weekends, especially after the death of my father. Albert had dogs and later chickens, it fascinated me", recalls Anne Goscinny . "I was also fascinated by the difference between my father and Albert, and the friendship that I could perceive between them. It taught me very early that to be friends sometimes you have to be different and very complementary."
