Abu Dhabi Police has allocated advanced ambulances to transfer suspected cases of emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) around the clock, and has announced that it has raised the degree of readiness of its teams to transfer cases, clearing sites where those cases were monitored, as well as applying strict precautions to ensure that no Transmission of the infection from the patient.
The deputy director of the Department of Dealing with Hazardous Substances, Major Yusef Muhammad Al-Kaabi, reviewed the preventive equipment for specialized ambulances (CBRN), explaining that it includes a car that deals with cases of hazardous substances, and deals with suspects of coronavirus (Covid-19), which is equipped with all Requirements to deal with any dangerous situation, whether chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear, and it is designed from materials and layers insulating for all radioactive materials, and is equipped with a pressure system that isolates the car from its entire outer perimeter, and that does not allow the transport of any dangerous material or microbes from inside the car to Outside or vice versa .
He stressed that the medical teams implement strict preventive measures, ensuring that the infection is not transmitted from the patient, applying high-level sterilization procedures, and prompt disposal of all medical waste and personal protective equipment for the medical staff when dealing with the patient suspected of carrying an infectious disease.
The car includes advanced equipment, response bags, and the most important thing that distinguishes them from the speed of re-equipping them to deal with other cases, and it is available around the clock to deal with infectious diseases in general, especially in the current period.
It was mentioned that the paramedics wear a protective clothing that covers the entire body, in order to prevent the transmission of any infection, whether by spray or air, or in contact with the patient or suspected of having an infectious disease, and this dress is immediately disposed of completely after the mission of the patient is transferred.
He stated that the CBRN teams participated in securing the transportation of the evacuees from the affected countries to Abu Dhabi, from their arrival at the airport to the declared stone sites, the most important of which is Emirates Humanitarian City.
