(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Zhang Boli: Integrated treatment of traditional Chinese and western medicine is the highlight of China's plan

China News Service, Wuhan, March 23 (Reporter Guo Xiaoying) The State Council Information Office held a press conference in Wuhan on the 23rd to introduce the important role of Chinese medicine in preventing and treating new crown pneumonia and effective drugs. Zhang Boli, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that early intervention and full participation of Chinese medicine, "Although we do not have specific medicines, we have effective Chinese medicine programs, and integrated Chinese and western medicine treatment is the highlight of our Chinese program."

Zhang Boli still remembers that when he first arrived in Wuhan on January 27, the epidemic situation was severe. In response to the lack of effective medicines and vaccines, medical staff will issue traditional Chinese medicine or proprietary Chinese medicine to patients. Wuhan only distributed more than 3,000 bags on the first day. After two or three days, everyone saw the curative effect, the fever was gone, and sleepiness was reduced. More and more people have taken the initiative to take Chinese medicine, and the distribution has gradually increased. At present, more than 600,000 medicines have been issued.

Zhang Boli said that from early February to mid-February, the proportion of patients diagnosed with "four types of personnel" was 80%. After taking the medicine for more than ten days, it dropped to 30% in mid-February and to single digits at the end of February. "So that we focus on isolation and universal use of Chinese medicine to prevent the spread of the epidemic is the basis for our victory."

According to Zhang Boli, for the light and ordinary patients, the square cabin hospital has adopted comprehensive treatment based on traditional Chinese medicine. In addition to the decoction and oral proprietary Chinese medicine, it also conducts comprehensive treatments such as massage, scraping, and dressing. None of the 564 patients in the hospital became severe. Later, more than 10,000 patients in a dozen other cabin hospitals generally used traditional Chinese medicine, with a weight-reversion rate of about 2% to 5%. For severe treatment, Zhang Boli emphasized that western medicine is the mainstay, Chinese medicine cooperates with Chinese medicine and western medicine, and the mortality rate is reduced.

Zhang Boli said that in the rehabilitation stage of patients, the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine is used to allow patients to do breathing exercises. At the same time, combined with traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage and other comprehensive therapies, they can improve symptoms, promote the absorption of inflammation, protect the organ damage, and protect immune function Repairs have a positive effect.
