Caregivers, on the front line facing the Covid-19 epidemic, will benefit from priority access to the stalls of large retail chains, the sector federation (FCD) announced on Monday. An initiative implemented in many brands.

“All the food retailers have decided by mutual agreement to allow all nursing staff, upon presentation of professional proof (badge / card from hospital or clinic), to be able to make their purchases without having to wait, neither at the store entrance, nor at the cash desks, at any time of the day, "said the Federation of Commerce and Distribution (FCD) in a press release.

"Simplify life"

For several days, several brands had taken initiatives “to (…) simplify the life” of the nursing staff within the framework of their purchases, specifies the FCD. These measures are therefore extended to all of the FCD members (Carrefour, Aldi, Auchan, Cora, Casino, Système U, Lidl, Picard), to which the E. Leclerc and Intermarché centers have been added.

Sunday evening, the latest assessment of the epidemic in France reported 674 people who died in France in hospital, knowing that deaths have also occurred in the city or in nursing homes. The extension of the containment of the population beyond the initial date of the end of March is demanded by the medical world. The Council of State however rejected the scenario of a “total containment”.
