Rallies, illicit activities and various offenses. In Vénissieux, in the Lyon suburbs, confinement does not seem like a small matter for the PCF mayor of the city Michèle Picard. After being alerted all weekend to the abuse of a minority of inhabitants, the latter asked the Rhône prefecture on Monday for reinforcements from the municipal police in its commune.

In a letter addressed to Emmanuelle Dubée, delegate prefect for defense and security, the mayor details the infractions noted in recent days. "I find it absolutely unacceptable that people in our town, out of disrespect, unconsciousness or delinquency, can take advantage of this situation to adopt completely inappropriate behavior endangering the health of all through gatherings of various and illegal forms. Not to mention the pursuit of illegal activities and traffic offenses, ”explains Michèle Picard in this letter sent to the press.

To put an end to these abuses, "which the municipal police alone cannot deal with", she requests reinforcements from the national police, "insufficient" to date, or from state security forces in the commune and in its neighborhoods.

"The maintenance of order remains indeed a sovereign competence of the State and the city of Vénissieux expects from him strong decisions in this difficult period that we are going through", adds the mayor, who notes an exasperation of the inhabitants who respect the letter containment.
