Since Tuesday noon, France has been confined and the government has taken measures to authorize exits under certain conditions. Each person who wishes to make a trip must have a certificate. Despite this, in Charleville-Mézières (Ardennes), a man was checked six times in three days for non-compliance with these confinement rules, reports France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne.

However, this individual did not receive a fine from the police. The public prosecutor explained that he is mentally retarded and that he may have been mistaken because of "perhaps clumsy indications from his guardian delegate".

Exceptional sanctions

This is therefore an exceptional case, because at the same time more stringent measures have been put in place. In Charleville-Mézières, a curfew is now in effect. No more travel is possible between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., reports France Bleu Champagne-Ardennes .

Finally, other sanctions are envisaged by the prosecution in case of non-compliance with the confinement rules. Certain possibilities are being examined, such as police custody for endangering the life of others and immediate appearance with the possibility of incarceration.
