“It is fathers and mothers, doctors, stretcher bearers, nursing assistants, nurses, security guards, who have a thousand reasons to remain confined, but their own reason is not to give up. They give us time, talent and heart forgetting tiredness, fear, hours. And far from the beautiful speeches, the great theories, with their task every day, they save lives. Jean-Jacques Goldman rewrote a verse and the refrain from Il changait la vie , one of his tubes released in 1988, to pay tribute to all those mobilized at their workplace in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic.

The video, posted this Monday afternoon, notably on Nolwenn Leroy's Instagram account, quickly went viral. According to host Karima Charni, who shared the extract on Twitter and whom 20 Minutes contacted, the images were sent by the singer to several members of Les Enfoirés.

" Thank you "

In the video, the singer, visibly at home, sings in front of his computer screen. At the end of the sequence, the screen splits in two and lets appear the photos of nursing staff and a cashier asking the French to respect the confinement. Jean-Jacques Goldman sends them a “thank you”.

He Changed Life , a song from the album Between Light Gray and Dark Gray released in 1987, celebrates the fate of a shoemaker, a teacher and a "little guy" musician who, each in their own way help "change lives". The updating of the piece with regard to current events is all the more relevant.
