[Explanation] On March 21, 84-year-old mother-in-law Liu walked out of the rehabilitation station of Wuhan Xinyue Hospital and said goodbye to the medical staff who took care of her day and night.
[Explanation] The rehabilitation station is the "last stop" for discharged patients to return home. According to the requirements, patients need to undergo 14 days of rehabilitation and isolation here, and they can go home after confirming that they are free.
[Explanation] Unlike other rehabilitation stations, Wuhan Xinyue Hospital's rehabilitation stations receive all elderly patients. From March 3 to the present, the hospital has accumulatively accepted more than 100 people, with an average age of more than 80 years old, of which the oldest is 103 years old and the youngest is 67 years old. There are currently more than 70 patients in the hospital, nearly half of whom are paralyzed, mentally disabled, and other patients who cannot take care of themselves.

[Annotation] Tian Hua, a 44-year-old nurse from the hospital, introduced that there are 5 doctors, 9 nurses, and 12 nursing workers. They work three shifts 24 hours a day, inspecting every half an hour to an hour to observe the patients. In addition to checking body temperature, monitoring changes in conditions, preventing emergencies and referrals, medical care also undertakes tasks such as feeding food and medicine to some elderly people, scrubbing, and assisting in the toilet.

We serve them, change diapers for them, wipe them for them, turn over for them, feed them with water, send them water, chat with them and even when we watch When they responded to us with a smile and thumbs up, we felt very relieved that the fatigue was gone.

Psychological comfort has become an important job outside of nursing. Feng Meiying, a carer, said that just like children, the elderly sometimes need to coax and sometimes need to accompany.
