French Health Minister Olivier Ferrand said today, Sunday, that the Corona virus has claimed the lives of its first victims, who are medical workers in the country, which is preparing for an expected increase in the number of cases.
The Minister thanked the medical workers who are fighting in the front lines, during statements to "LCI" television, and said that France depends on the employees in order to continue the work of the necessary equipment in light of the state of the national closure.
State television reported what was stated in a Facebook post to the son of one of the doctors, in which he said that his father, an emergency specialist in a hospital in the Compiegne region, north of Paris, died.
"The medical profession is making a huge sacrifice in our country today," said Ferran.
