After Montpellier, Béziers (Hérault) and Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), other towns in the former Languedoc-Roussillon are adopting a night curfew.

The prefect of Gard indeed indicates this Sunday that any movement will be formally prohibited between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., as of this Sunday, in Nîmes, Alès and Bagnols-sur-Cèze, as part of measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Some exceptions

Only journeys between the home and the workplace will be accepted, for people whose business trips cannot be postponed, trips for health reasons or compelling family reasons, in particular for the assistance of vulnerable people or for child care. Travel will also be tolerated to participate in missions of general interest, says the prefecture.

The curfew is in effect until March 31. Shops are invited to stop welcoming visitors from 9:30 p.m. Any infraction will be punished with a fine of 135 euros.
