The writer Arno Bertina is our guest in VMDN. His book "The Age of the First Pass" has just appeared in the Verticales collection of Gallimard editions. An overwhelming story about the prostitution of minors in Congo-Brazzaville.

He spent five long stays in the Congo, at the invitation of a Franco-Congolese NGO which deals with the reintegration of street girls, most of them prostitutes who are minors, sometimes already mothers.

"The age of the first pass", by Arno Bertina. Gallimard editions

From the writing workshop he led, his marauding in Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville, a few nocturnal trips, and a real field survey nourished by some meetings rich in lessons and reflection, he gives us not a novel but a harsh and poignant story, which speaks of domination and enslavement; of social, physical and psychological misery. A story that also reflects on writing (its usefulness and its limits) on language, on Françafrique and globalization.

Small detour by the famous National School of Fine Arts in Paris. Marjorie Bertin visited an exhibition on drawing in Bologna, Italy, in the 17th century. Reportage.
