The Regional Health Agency (ARS) Paca recorded this Thursday 124 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to its last count, 39 more than Wednesday. Two additional deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.

And the region is still preparing for a multiplication of patients tested, diagnosed and possibly hospitalized and has decided to "anticipate a possible saturation of critical care capacities". The ARS indicates this Thursday to have "worked with the resuscitators of each regional hospital group to set up a strategy of increase and extension of critical care".

Double current resuscitation capacities

In addition to the 450 adult resuscitation beds and 700 continuous monitoring beds already in place, the region "will be able to double its current resuscitation capacities to cover all vital emergencies by bringing them to 980 beds," it said. . In a second phase, 200 additional beds could be mobilized.

A total of 690 people have tested positive for Paca since the start of the epidemic. Including 377 in the Bouches-du-Rhône, 133 in the Alpes-Maritimes, 124 in the Var, 31 in the Hautes-Alpes, 17 in the Vaucluse and finally 7 in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Among these cases, 44 people are in intensive care.
