Hong Kong's second dog infected with New Crown virus, the second case of dog infection in the world

[Global Times Comprehensive Report] A spokesman for the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said on the evening of the 19th that another dog was found to be positive in repeated tests of the new crown pneumonia virus. This is the second case of dog infection in the world after the squirrel dog, Zhou Qiao'er, the infected horse owner, had a weak positive response to the test.

Dongfang Daily reported on the 19th that the case involved a German wolf dog living in Pokfulam District. After its owner was diagnosed with new crown pneumonia, he and another Tang dog were sent to the animal shelter of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port for quarantine on the 18th. Don dog samples did not test positive. AFCD said that there is no evidence that pets can transmit the new crown virus to humans, and owners should maintain good hygiene and should never abandon pets under any circumstances.

Earlier, Hong Kong horse owner Zhou Qiao'er's squirrel dog was found to have a low level of infection. Thereafter, the AFCD's multiple tests were negative. The dog was returned to the owner on the 14th but died two days later. Zhou Qiao'er was unwilling to perform a post-mortem on the dog to determine the cause of death. (In name)
