The Sanriku Railway in Iwate Prefecture, which has been partially closed due to the damage caused by Typhoon last year, will be tested on the remaining sections of the rehabilitated section before operation resumes on all lines this week. The run was performed and the safety of the track was confirmed.

The Sanriku Railway Rias Line, which runs along the coast of Iwate Prefecture, was temporarily damaged by the heavy rains of Typhoon No. 19 in October last year. The 28.9 km between Rikunakayamada Station and Kamaishi Station will resume operation this week on 20th.

Test runs began on the 16th, using a special vehicle called a "motor car" to check the safety of the track in the section where construction was completed.

Of these, at the site of the Funakoshi district in Yamada-cho, where the ground of the track was leaked due to heavy rain, the vehicle was running at a speed of about 10 km / h, and it was confirmed that there was no problem with the rebuilt track and ground.

According to the Sanriku Railway, there was no problem with the test run on the 16th, and after conducting a test run with the commercial vehicle and making final confirmation, it will be the first time in about 5 months on the 20th of this week from Ofuji station to Kuji station We will resume operation on all lines up to Nomori Station.
