The Health Department of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Hospital Authority held a briefing on the afternoon of the 15th. Zhang Zhujun, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, introduced at the meeting that one of the patients diagnosed that day was a 35-year-old man living in Fanling. He visited Hokkaido, Japan from February 26 to March 11. She returned to Hong Kong on March 11 and started coughing on the same day. She had a fever on March 14 and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

The other confirmed patient was a 29-year-old man who visited Germany and Austria from March 5 to 12, returned to Hong Kong on March 13, and then checked into a hotel in Wan Chai. It is understood that he contacted a confirmed patient in Austria on March 10, started coughing on March 11, and was hospitalized on March 14.

There are also two related confirmed cases. One of them was a 37-year-old man living in Saigon. He had visited France during the incubation period and returned to Hong Kong on March 13. He started coughing, fever, and diarrhea on March 10 and was admitted to hospital on March 14. His wife, two daughters, and domestic helpers were temporarily negative for the New Coronary Pneumonia Virus test. A friend who visited France with him was also diagnosed. A 39-year-old man living in the Eastern District returned to Hong Kong on March 13 and started coughing on the same day. He was then admitted to the hospital for treatment and confirmed on the 15th.

Hong Kong Hospital Authority figures show that so far a total of 58 confirmed patients have been treated in hospitals and 4 have died.
