In 1992, after publishing a well-known rostrum among the Catalan intellectual cream, Nuria Amat received a letter from Joan Maria Pujals, then Minister of Culture. Pujol was still the viceroy of Catalonia. «He told me that I had to write in Catalan, although I am from a bilingual family tradition. I was stunned by his request and that on top of that I had no qualms about leaving it in writing », he admits. By then, the Barcelona writer had already forged critical thinking towards Catalan nationalism.
