The infection was confirmed by a senior Maritime SDF officer in his 40s working for the Joint Staff Officer of the Ministry of Defense in Ichigaya, Tokyo.
According to the Ministry of Defense, a senior SDF officer left Japan on March 3 and attended a seminar hosted by the National Laboratory in France on a business trip, but confirmed that a new coronavirus was infected among the participants.
