The progress of the corona virus hits hard on cultural life in the form of canceled and postponed cultural events and a reduced number of visitors.

And on Wednesday, the Public Health Agency will hold a press conference on the possibility of imposing meeting restrictions in Sweden. Something that has been introduced in other countries. This can, for example, be about limiting gatherings to a maximum of 500 people, which can lead to the need for cultural events to be canceled. Decisions are expected to come during the day.

The Minister held a meeting

During Wednesday, Minister of Culture Amanda Lind (MP) had invited cultural and sports actors such as the Swedish stage costume and the Biographical Owners' Association for talks on the occasion of the new corona virus. The purpose of the meeting is to give the actors their picture of the current situation and discuss preparedness, Amanda Lind said in connection with a press conference after the meeting.

- We know that the corona virus is already affecting, both organizers and cultural events, and will do so in the event of a decision on restrictions of participants at events, says Amanda Lind.
