A special experience that brings together the actress and writer Raed Taha in the theater. She followed her dream of standing on the stage, to raise through the "Abo Al-Founon" issues that affect her life, as she stands on the stage spontaneously a child, and writes about her life and her memories, Palestine and the struggle of her martyr father objectively and honestly and without ideology or any supremacy For clichés or frames.

She described a pioneer in her dialogue with «Emirates Today» during her recent visit to Dubai, during which she presented her recent work «The Tree», the stage as a free and available platform to raise issues and not to find solutions, considering that the theater does not have a specific mix, and success requires persistence and mastery.

And about her last play, she said: “Her story is not my full story, rather it is part of many, and a chapter of the story of my life, with the eyes of a girl aged between three and seven years. The work is a novel of tales that extend from the period before returning to the next, and a reflection of stories (I will meet you like you, O Ali). The life stories do not end, from my story to the stories of all Palestinians. ”

A platform for everyone

Raida Taha works to put the self-experience on stage: «The theater is the very important platform available for any person to raise his issues, it is a subject for thinking, but it is not a place for solutions, as one can choose the personality he wants, there is great freedom, and direct engagement with the recipient, and this is important Because it gives the viewer the opportunity to think, the theater is a very important message, different from all experiences, and gives the actor and the audience together the opportunity to discuss the most difficult issues, and research in thought ».

And the pioneer of Taha does not find that “the arts” have diminished their luster in this age governed by speed and the power of social media in all its aspects, adding: “I do not think that the theater has diminished its role in London or America or Europe, as it has a very special credibility and respect, and it is still strong It has a high cultural value, as many book tickets for a period of time before they travel, and there are plays presented for years.

She continued: «It must be noted that the theater is a cumulative experience, not born in a few days, but an experience based on the accustomed society’s culture and respect for the theater, and in the Arab world there are a few places that give the theater its role, and with time there will become an accumulation that gives him its cultural position.

Raida Taha pointed out that «theater in these times is resistance in itself, it is a weapon of another type, and according to Mahmoud Darwish, all slogans have fallen and everyone has mastered what he is doing so that this is a kind of cultural resistance and not only patriotism, the theater is a kind of struggle and resistance, But it is a cultural resistance whose tools are wood and thought. ”

Abstaining easy

Raida Taha believes that presenting any character on the stage is an experience that requires a lot of research and sincerity for what the actor is doing, as it may seem that the work on the stage is presented in an easy template, but it is realistic, very difficult, or it can be described as “the easy and abstaining, as the plays take time A long time in research and necessary exercises ». She explained that working on the stage in a monodramatic manner makes it perfect for her tools, which she summarizes in sincerity, persistence, and mastery of good work, lack of complacency, and not taking the audience to bear the content, in every work you feel responsibility and great fear.

She pointed out that the artist who respects his work and himself is not confident in what he does every time, as he must have doubts and questions related to the other party and he is the recipient, noting that it stands on stage and is always sincere and self-convincing of the above, and this depends on the extent of Her sincerity and her work on the recipient, so she does not set any goal, as her primary goal is to be honest with herself and sincere to the story that she tells, so she does not put herself in the template of success, as the possibility of failure remains.

As for the passion for the theater, and after years of work in it, it is not exhausted by the pioneer of Taha, because it transmits the Palestinian narrative from a very humane perspective without slogans and clichés, but rather from the daily living that speaks to many people, “as I present the Palestinian person without setting a framework around him, This fact there is a full life, pain, loss, deprivation, joy, happiness and deal with his daily moments and minutes. ”Its goal is to transmit the diary in its simplicity. She stressed that she is satisfied with her experience in writing and acting at the present time, and does not seek to direct at this stage, but is happy and lucky with the directors who dealt with them.

Darwish .. a star shining over my head

The creative pioneer Taha loves to read in general, and poetry in particular, as she sees reading is essential to the play, as it is an opportunity to learn about other cultures, reading is a unique travel and experience. She said: “I love poetry, and this is a special option. When I discovered poetry, I found people around me who were fortunate to them. Mahmoud Darwish was a very big friend. He taught me how to read and what to read, and surrounding important people is luck, and it requires diligence.”

And about Darwish in particular, she added: “The star in the sky that guided me on the road and still shines to this day above my head, cannot be shortened by a few words, but he is really a star in the sky for me and many, and I was fortunate in his friendship, and he believed in my talent, and always encouraged me And I wish he were alive and seeing me on stage. ”
