"The Last of Us Part 2" once again features young Ellie - Sony

Playful serial video adaptations are in fashion. After The Witcher and before Resident Evil on Netflix, HBO is developing the serial adaptation of the apocalyptic video game The Last of Us. The American cable channel calls on Craig Mazin, the creator of the mini-series Chernobyl , to tell the adventures of Ellie and Joel, the two heroes of the first game in PS3 released in 2013.

The Naughty Dog studio, which developed the game, and Neil Druckmann, its creator, are also associated with the project. “Neil Druckmann is undoubtedly the best storyteller working in the video game industry, and The Last of Us is his masterpiece. Having the chance to adapt this amazing work has been one of my dreams for years. I am very honored to partner with Neil, "said the creator of Chernobyl , in a statement by The Hollywood Reporter.

"I was blown away by her approach to storytelling"

"When I sat down to speak with Craig for the first time, I was blown away by his approach to storytelling and by his love and deep understanding of The Last of Us . With Chernobyl , Craig and HBO have created an intense, heartbreaking and overwhelming masterpiece. I couldn't think of better partners to bring the story of The Last of Us to life, ”said Neil Druckmann.
