Three American bombs from World War II were being defused without incident Saturday morning in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (Val-d'Oise), we learned from concordant sources.

The three bombs were discovered "a fortnight ago on a construction site," said a police source. Defused on site, they must then be transported to be destroyed.

A vast security perimeter has been set up for this demining operation which has mobilized more than 50 police officers. Part of the A15 motorway was closed and 600 people had to be evacuated or confined to their homes, according to another police source.
