Chinese scientists have performed a genetic analysis of the virus, on 103 samples from it, taken from patients in Wuhan and other cities. It was not detected much except for two major strains of the virus, one more widespread and aggressive, and the second previously found in the previous strains of the Corona virus (MERS and SARS).

Over time, all viruses accumulate mutations, and the new corona virus is not different from it, but the extent of spread of different strains of the virus depends on natural selection, so the strains that can spread faster and replicate effectively in the body will be more successful, according to the website Sky News.

This does not necessarily mean the most dangerous to people, because viruses that kill people quickly or make them seriously ill may have a lower risk of transmission.

However, this theory is conflicting at this point, as there are as yet no direct comparisons to see if people who are infected with one copy of the virus are more likely to contract it or suffer from more severe symptoms.
