The coronavirus does not stop doing damage and we no longer count all the cultural events postponed or canceled.

This Friday, it is the turn of the Art Paris fair, a large contemporary art fair which takes place each year at the Grand Palais, to be reprogrammed: the organizers of Art Paris, have announced that the fair scheduled from April 2 to 5, is postponed to May 28-31 due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Canceled fairs

The organizers explained in a statement sent to AFP that the epidemic "creates conditions that will make it extremely complicated to hold an event as important as Art Paris in early April". “Our primary concern is the safety of our exhibitors and our visitors. Our duty is to offer optimal conditions to the exhibiting galleries for the success of their participation in terms of sales and contacts with new collectors. In view of recent developments in the situation, it seems to us that the conditions will not be met at the start of April, ”they added.

Three major art fairs have already been impacted by the Coronavirus: On February 6, Art Basel, which was to be held from March 19 to 21 in Hong Kong, was canceled. Then Art Up !, contemporary art fair in Lille was moved in June, finally, Art Dubaï, leading international fair which takes place every March in Dubai has been postponed to an unknown date.
