In the United States, Canada and the Netherlands, the Disney + video streaming platform arrived in November, but in France, the public had to be patient. But the wait is coming to an end: the new competitor to Netflix will be available on March 24 in several European countries.
For those who are still hesitant to subscribe, the decision should be easier to make since this Friday: Disney + has published the list of content offered. More than five hundred films and three hundred series will be available, which should reassure those who feared poor content service.
Price of annual subscription, number of simultaneous accounts…
On the video on demand platform, there will be something for everyone: National Geographic documentaries, completely new productions like the series from Star Wars The Mandalorian - the famous series in which the character of Baby Yoda appears - or that taken from High School Musical , like great classics: Cinderella, Snow White, more than fifty Pixar productions, Marvel films and series and the first thirty seasons of The Simpsons .
A program as dense as it is diversified, something to delight European Internet users. Disney + has also detailed its offer: if all the content will be available in HD and without advertising - as with all its competitors - the price seems advantageous. The subscription should cost 6.99 euros per month, and 69.99 euros per year. An annual subscription that does not exist at Netflix for example. It will be possible on Disney + to have four streams simultaneously, configure seven different profiles and download unlimited on ten devices.
Not the most recent cinema films
Only problem: because of the rules of the media chronology, and agreements in force with TV channels in France, the last blockbusters will be the big ones missing from the Disney + list. Among them, the Star Wars recently released, "The Last Jedi" or The Ascension of Skywalker, Black Panther or Frozen 2 .
Fans will have to settle for the first installments of these blockbuster films. So, of course only original movies exclusive to Disney Plus. With, in particular, a plethora of adaptations in “real” images of the classics like Beauty and the Beast and soon Taram and the magic cauldron or Lilo and Stitch , a new version of Peter Pan, a spin-off of Aladdin , a sequel at Sister Act, remakes galore (Night at the museum, Mom I missed the plane, Three men and a baby, The Father of the bride…) .
