The hydroalcoholic gel cannot be found. - M.Libert / 20 Minutes

Rarer than gold. While the government published in the Official Journal this Friday, a decree regulating the prices of hydroalcoholic gels, 20 Minutes wanted to verify that the measure was actually applied. In Lille, we did not even have the opportunity, the precious product being out of stock everywhere.

In the midst of a coronavirus epidemic, to avoid soaring prices, the government fixed by decree the maximum price at which hydroalcoholic gel can be sold. Usually distributed in pharmacies, this type of hand sanitizer should not be billed for more than 2 euros per 50 ml bottle.

No stock and no delivery date

In the pharmacies of downtown Lille, we do not ask the question anyway since the product is out of stock everywhere. 20 Minutes went to a dozen pharmacies to get the same answer each time: out of stock. Same result for a dozen other pharmacies contacted by phone in Lille and in the metropolis.

Tired of overwhelming desperate customers, most professionals have also displayed in the window that they no longer have either a mask or a disinfectant solution for their hands. "The worst part is that the distributors do not know how to tell us when they will be able to deliver to us," says a pharmacist from Lille.

However, one would have hoped that the metropolis would be worse off than the rest of the territory, one of the main manufacturers of hydroalcoholic gel, Anios, being installed on its territory. Contacted by 20 Minutes , the laboratory has not (yet) followed up. So, while waiting for the renewal of pharmacies' stocks, why not try to make your own disinfectant solution following the WHO recipe?
