African club cup finals: the four candidate cities unveiled

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has unveiled the list of candidate cities for the organization of the final of the Champions League (C1) and that of the Confederation Cup (C2). For the first time, the finals of C1 and C2 will be played in a single match.

Cameroon, Morocco and Tunisia, three countries recently affected by the Coronavirus , are therefore candidates for the organization of the 2020 finals of the Champions League (C1) and the Confederation Cup (C2). For the first time, the final of C1 and that of C2 will take place on a meeting, rather than via a round trip match formula.

Three candidates for the Champions League

This March 6, 2020, the African Football Confederation (CAF) indicated that the Japoma Stadium in Douala, the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca or the Radès Olympic Stadium in Tunis will be the theater, on May 29, part of C1.

" The 1st vice-president of CAF, Constant Omari Selemani, will examine and evaluate the offers received taking into account key facilities such as sports infrastructure, accommodation, medical devices, among others, " said a press release. CAF should announce its choice after an Executive Committee scheduled for March 12.

No suspense for the Confederation Cup

Regarding the C2 final scheduled for May 24, there should be no suspense since only the Moroccan Federation, which proposed the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, is in the running.
