10 recovered people in the city have donated plasma twice in a row

First person to donate plasma again: I will donate for the epidemic

Yangtze River News (Reporter Liu Xuan correspondent Zhang Zhi Zhang Yu) With the increase of new crown pneumonia cures, more and more recoverers have joined the ranks of plasma donation. The reporter saw from the registration information of Wuhan Blood Center that as of March 4th, 10 recovered people in the city had donated plasma twice in a row.

Cai Taoying, the city's first "Erlian Plasma Donor", was a nurse in the endocrinology department of Hankou Hospital, and donated 400 ml of plasma on February 17 and March 2.

"I was infected during my work." Speaking of her illness, Cai Taoying, 46, was calm. Symptoms occurred on January 18, were confirmed by lung CT on the 21st, and recovered and discharged on the 30th. Cai Taoying said she was lucky. The only thing she couldn't accept was that her husband who worked at the hospital was also recruited.

"I was informed of his diagnosis as soon as I was discharged from the hospital." Cai Taoying said that she was crying while answering her husband's phone. She was afraid of losing her husband, which was one of the reasons she decided to donate plasma after recovering. "I've seen the pain of other families in the hospital, and I also experienced the despair of her husband when he was diagnosed. I don't want such a tragedy to happen again." Cai Taoying said that she can help one by one, as long as the epidemic needs, she will continue to donate. Fortunately, her husband has also been discharged from the hospital and is undergoing quarantine for the next 14 days. "He said that he will also be added to the plasma donation after the quarantine period has passed."

The Changjiang Daily reporter learned that Cai Taoying and her husband were both fixed and unpaid blood donors. Before the outbreak, the two had participated in 84 and 60 unpaid blood donations, respectively. Cai Taoying returned to work after donating her plasma. She is now in good health. "Blood donation has no effect on the body, and anyone who wishes to recover can donate."

On March 3, the Wuhan Blood Center welcomed two “Erlian donators”. They are a pair of older siblings and the earliest infected people in Wuhan. His brother Tang Lijun is 49 years old and is a merchant in the South China Seafood Market. My sister Tang Liqin is 54 years old, and she depends on cooking for her livelihood.

Tang Lijun developed symptoms on January 2 and soon after, Tang Liqin also developed symptoms. During the illness, Tang Liqin watched the news every day, saw the hardships of the medical staff, and saw the patient's painful death. She was anxious, "I have no culture, I want to help, and I have no ability." Tang Liqin quickly contacted his younger brother, and the two participated in the donation together. "Nothing else can be done, donating some blood is still okay, and it has no effect on my body." Tang Liqin said that she and her brother will continue to donate.

"These 10 secondary donors donated 400 ml of plasma each time, and they said they could help more patients." Chen Hanwei, director of the blood donation department of Wuhan Blood Center, was deeply moved by this. She told reporters that the donors donated once. The plasma volume is 200-400 ml, and donations can be made every 14 days. She called on more ex-students to join the plasma donation and pass on the luck of recovery.
