A New Zealand player from the Rugby Top League Hino was arrested by the National Police Agency for suspected of using cocaine. Hino has announced that it will self-restrain the team's activities indefinitely.

Arrested was Joel Everson, 29, from New Zealand belonging to the Rugby Top League Hino.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Everson used cocaine at about 4:30 am on April 4 on a street in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, after a police officer asked him a duty. Suspected of violating the Drug Control Law.

He acknowledged the investigation and stated that he had no doubt used cocaine.

The Metropolitan Police Department is going to investigate the circumstances that it has obtained.
