On March 4, local time, a staff member of the Department of Wildlife Resources conducted a health check on a hardware ranch near Shirum, Utah, USA. The staff collected data by measuring their waist circumference, hip fat, and body size to get the percentage of total body fat and a "physical condition score". It is reported that these deer were captured and measured last fall, so new data will reveal their condition during the winter (the most difficult time of the year).
