Unusually warm weather for March was established in Moscow. Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Moscow Meteo Bureau, told RT that a similar weather pattern will continue until the end of the week.

“In the next five to six days, warm weather, uncharacteristic for these days of March, will prevail, although the sun will rarely spoil us,” said Pozdnyakova.

According to her, at night the temperature will be stably above zero. On the night of March 6, +4 ... + 6 ° C is expected.

Thus, precipitation, the possibility of which remains until Sunday inclusive, will fall in the form of rain. This will contribute to the convergence of the snow cover.

Earlier, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, warned motorists that although the snow cover was almost gone, it’s too early to change winter tires to summer tires. Until the end of March, the possibility remains that at night the temperature will be near zero. But already in early April, it will be possible to switch to summer driving mode, said weather forecaster RIA Novosti.

"Anomalies continue"

Anatoly Tsygankov, deputy head of the Roshydromet situational center, said in an interview with RT that in the next three days the temperature will be high in the capital.

“We continue to have abnormal warmth, the whole winter was quite warm, now the beginning of March is almost three days - 6-8 degrees above normal temperature. This anomaly continues further, ”the meteorologist noted.

The penetration of cold air into the European territory of Russia is hindered by cyclones that stretch from Iceland to the Baltic, explained Tsygankov. Thus, heat from Europe enters the central regions of Russia and leads to the establishment of a low pressure region. Until Saturday, March 7, the sky will be cloudy, rain is possible.

“On the fifth, sixth, and seventh, cloudy weather, then partly cloudy, light rain. The biggest rain is March 6, ”concluded Tsygankov.

The head of the Roshydromet situational center, Yuri Varakin, for his part, notes that the first ten days of March will be quite rainy in most regions of the Russian Federation. In the European part of Russia, precipitation will be more than normal. During the first days of the spring month, 20% of the monthly norm has already fallen.

“In the next ten days there will be more precipitation, because there is an influence of the atmospheric fronts of the Atlantic,” said the weather forecaster.

Gift for March 8

On weekends, the weather in Moscow will remain quite warm. In general, the indicators will be significantly higher than normal, said Pozdnyakova.

“Daytime temperature will be around +8 ... + 9 ° С, which is also close to record values. For March 7, the maximum temperature record is exactly +9 ° С, observed in 2002, ”she said in an interview with RT.

On International Women's Day, March 8, the weather will be cloudy with little rain. The air warms up to +9 ... + 10 ° С, according to the forecast of the Moscow Meteoburo.

“On March 8 and 9, the background temperature will more closely correspond to mid-April. It can be considered that such weather will be a gift for residents of the capital region, ”the chief specialist of the Meteoburo emphasized.

Earlier, a specialist at the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, warned that "in the coming days, Moscow would expect" half a dozen temperature records in a row. "

“On the eighth day it will be +11 ... + 13 ° C, the previous record plus +8.3 in 2014, and on the ninth day it will be +11 ... + 13 ° C,” Tishkovets said on the air of Sputnik radio.

According to him, the climate spring in Moscow and central Russia came a month earlier. Typically, such temperatures are observed in these regions only at the end of March.

So the first spring heat record was broken in St. Petersburg on March 2. According to the Hydrometeorological Center, the air temperature in the city center reached +5.9 ° C, blocking the historical maximum of 1997.

March 4, record temperatures were observed in southern Russia. In Simferopol, the air temperature in the city was +26.6 ° C, blocking the maximum indicators of 95 years ago. In 1925, the thermometer columns in the city rose to +21.3 ° C. In Astrakhan, +17.5 ° C was recorded, which is 2.5 degrees more than the record year of 1958. Holidays in the south of the country, "starting from the interfluve of the Volga and the Don and to the spurs of the Caucasus, the Caucasus itself, on the Black Sea coast, in the Crimea, in the Kuban, in Azov", will also be very warm, TASS said Tishkovets. Here it is expected +23 ... + 25 ° C.

Elevated temperatures in early March continued the trend set by the winter months. According to the Hydrometeorological Center, last winter became the warmest in the history of meteorological observations. According to Roman Vilfand, supervisor of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, the average temperature in Moscow over the past three months has been positive.

“The winter temperature throughout Russia was extreme, 1.3 degrees higher than the record winter figure of 2015-2016,” Villefand emphasized.
