Public Enemy co-founder Flavor Flav - AdMedia / Starface

Between Chuck D and Flavor Flav, it's war again and again. The two co-founders of Public Enemy are again in conflict and this time it's serious. Chuck D simply decided to fire his sidekick from the legendary group. In question ? Recent statements by Flav, who would not have appreciated Chuck D performing with Public Enemy Radio during a rally in support of the US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

"If Chuck is free to express his political views as he sees fit, his voice alone is not enough to speak for any Public Enemy. The performance is only by Chuck D, a member of Public Enemy Radio and not of Public Enemy. To be very clear, Flav and by extension the Hall of Fame member group, Public Enemy, (…) did not publicly support any candidate in this electoral cycle and any suggestion to the contrary is false, ”Flavor had declared via a press release from his lawyer, relayed by The Hollywood Reporter, and therefore putting the Democratic candidate in default so that he does not use the name of the group in his meetings.

Unceremoniously

It was enough for Chuck D to respond by explaining that if he had co-created the rap group with Flavor Flav, he was today the only holder of the name Public Enemy. He therefore reserves the right to do whatever he wants with the group, including dismissing his best enemy. Threat executed this Sunday, therefore, as announced by Billboard magazine.

Chuck D said Public Enemy would continue to perform with its current members, DJ Lord and Professor Griff.
