Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, charged with corruption in a series of cases, ahead of his rival Benny Gantz on Monday evening, according to the first projections released after the parliamentary elections in Israel, the third in less than a year.

Polls to exit the polls released after the closing of the polling stations credit the Likud of Mr. Netanyahu of 36 or 37 seats on the 120 of Parliament, against 32 or 33 for the formation Kahol Lavan (Blue-White) of his rival Benny Gantz.
