After serving for more than 40 years, France ’s first high-speed rail train, the Patrick, was retired in February 2020. It was said goodbye to the public at the Paris Lyon train station on February 29 local time.

The reporter saw at the scene that many people gathered in front of the platform where the orange-red "Patrick" train stopped, and many people rushed to take a photo with the train. The staff of the French national railway company is busy giving out souvenirs-orange t-shirts printed with the model of the "Patrick" train and "Goodbye, 'Patrick'".

There are small temporary exhibitions in the passenger compartment of the "Patrick" train, and the public can learn about the development history of the French high-speed railway. The Patrick, the first high-speed train in France, left the factory in 1978, and subsequently participated in the operational test of the high-speed railway. In September 1981, the French high-speed railway was officially opened. The first line was the high-speed rail system between Paris and Lyon. The Patrick service was on this line.
