Dubai Culture and Arts Authority "Dubai Culture" announced its partnership with the "Film Fund", the first mobile cinema in Dubai and the region, to display a package of short silent films, which will be among the activities of the first edition of "Al Marmoum: Film in the Desert", the pioneering event that The Authority is organizing from the fourth to the seventh of March this year in the Marmum Desert, under the umbrella of the Dubai Art Season in its seventh edition, with the aim of providing the opportunity for a wide segment of the public to enjoy a distinct experience in watching movies.

Through this partnership, Dubai Culture will present, for the first time throughout the four days of the event, a group of mobile cinema films that allow the display of various short films within easy-to-install and transport platforms designed in the form of a box that can accommodate 28 spectators, to be set up in the Marmum Desert to showcase Short silent films, each lasting between 10 and 15 minutes. The "Film Box" is the first of its kind in terms of its capacity for this number of spectators at the same time. Commenting on the move, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Dubai Culture, Shaima Al Suwaidi said: “The partnership between (Al Marmoum: Film in the Desert) and (Film Fund) is in line with the authority’s vision to support emerging talent and create cultural platforms. Creative suitable for everyone. We also seek to inspire emerging generations who are passionate about filmmakers. The (Film Fund) gives the public an opportunity to cross the borders of languages ​​and overcome cultural obstacles, which in turn will contribute to uniting people through a cinematic world that speaks the language of everyone. ”

The "Film Fund" will offer a bouquet of silent short films that are not based on dialogue, allowing the possibility for them to be understood by members of the public of different cultures and languages ​​without the need to translate them. This type of film also provides an opportunity for cinematic cadres, including photographers and actors, to focus on the creative aspects of the film, and the stories they tell through it, as this frees them from language barriers that can affect the smoothness of the work at times.

The partnership with the "Film Fund" also aims to provide the possibility for deaf and dumb people to enjoy the world of cinema and movies, and to encourage them to participate in this event, and to experience a distinct cultural experience as provided by its visitors.
