Guangdong boss sells Tangerine Orange and is forced to stay in Wuhan to join volunteer team

Volunteers stranded in Wuhan: stay a little longer and help a little more

Winning the fight against epidemic prevention and control

Because of a business trip, Huang Chunming, an agricultural company owner in Guangdong, was stranded in Wuhan. Although a foreigner, even having problems eating at first, he was very busy joining the volunteer team. From the original hope of unblocking, to "not wanting to go home", Huang Chunming said that he would not return home with confidence until the Wuhan epidemic dropped from the first-level response to the third-level response.

Eat 17 kg of noodles with your partner for 8 days

Huang Chunming, 34, from Qingyuan, Guangdong, is the owner of an agricultural company in his hometown. He mainly sells sugar oranges and vegetables. Last year, the orange harvest was good, but it didn't sell well. On January 21 this year, Huang Chunming and two business managers drove a batch of oranges to sell in Wuhan, but he did not expect that Wuhan would take measures to restrict traffic two days later.

At the beginning, Huang Chunming didn't care, and discussed with his colleagues that it wouldn't take long for him to go home. But after a few days, they found it difficult to survive in Wuhan. Huang Chunming's hotel is located in a community, but because of the community's ban, take-out can't come in and it's getting harder to get in and out.

Later, he contacted a local friend and moved into a friend's vacant house. Unexpectedly, accommodation was solved, restaurants in the city were closed, and eating was still a problem. Friends could only send Huang Chunming three of them rice, oil and salt. Every time, Huang Chunming put the oil and salt on the rice and ate it. Later, he switched to noodles. After eight days of 17 kg noodles with two business managers, he finally ate vegetables and bacon with the help of his friends, and his meals improved a lot.

Become a volunteer

Start by delivering sugar oranges to the hospital

Helpless to stay in another country, Huang Chunming did not want to be idle. Initially, he saw that Vulcan Mountain had information about recruiting construction workers, and hurried to drive. After staying for a day, he felt that he could not reach his hands. After returning to his residence, he searched the Internet for information about volunteers and volunteers. Later, he learned that Wuhan Hongshan Gymnasium was about to build a square cabin hospital, and met Mr. Zhu, a "Shadow Dream Team" volunteer who distributed medical supplies to the hospital.

Huang Chunming observed for two days and saw that they were really doing hard work. So he told Mr. Zhu his willingness to join the volunteer team, but at the time he said, "I don't think I can help, and I only have sugar oranges."

Even a person who is having trouble eating even wants to volunteer? Mr. Zhu was surprised when he looked at the man speaking Cantonese. Mr. Zhu encouraged Huang Chunming to say, "It's OK to have sugar oranges." The next day, Huang Chunming took a ton of sugar oranges and donated them to medical staff. "Let them taste my hometown."

Later, Huang Chunming joined the "Shadow Dream Team" as he wished. He and other team members worked more than ten hours a day, unloaded from the railway freight station, and then drove medical and living supplies to hospitals and communities.

This job is not easy for Huang Chunming, who is the boss. Because it is all physical work, Huang Chunming often feels unable to stretch his waist when he wakes up, and feels that his body has been nailed. "The caring people in Qionghai, Hainan donated a lot of winter melon. We carried it up and carried it down again. Every time we weighed about 200 tons, everyone was sweating."

In addition to volunteering, Huang Chunming has helped more than 20 Qingyuan villagers solve their daily life problems. "People living in the hometown had patients diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia, and the building was closed. They couldn't go out to buy things. Later, I received their help, and when I was not busy, I helped them to buy daily necessities, and then gave them through the community property. "Said Huang Chunming.

I hope the heritage is helpful

When he was in his hometown, Huang Chunming participated in some public welfare activities every month to help children of single-parent families and elderly people in nursing homes. After joining the volunteer team in Wuhan, he and other volunteer members also wrote a testament. In this regard, Huang Chunming's parents were worried that he should not go to the hospital and protect himself. But Huang Chunming explained every time: "I have protective measures, not so serious."

Huang Chunming was grateful for his wife's support and asked him to take videos of the children every day to tell them what his father was doing and set a good example for them.

On the phone, the 11-year-old son asked him why he was doing such a dangerous thing. Huang Chunming said to his son, "Every dangerous thing needs someone to do it. Not that it is great to do it, but it can affect more people to help others."

Huang Chunming told Beiqing Daily that he and his wife hope to pass on the help to the next generation.

After returning to Guangdong, make a bowl of hot dry noodles for the family

As a foreigner stranded in Wuhan, Huang Chunming also looked forward to unblocking and returned home early to reunite with his loved ones. But after joining the volunteer team, Huang Chunming had no idea of going home. He hoped that he would "stay one more day and help a little more" in Wuhan.

Beiqing Daily: Want to go home after so long in Wuhan?

Huang Chunming: At the beginning I comforted my wife and said that I should be able to go back around the fifth day of the new year. Now that I have joined the volunteer team, I have no such idea. I do n’t think I will go back first even if it is unblocked. I want to wait until the Wuhan epidemic falls from the first-level response to the third-level response before I go home, because here I have a lot of work to do.

Beiqing Daily: Why want to join the volunteer team?

Huang Chunming: People in Wuhan are not easy. They are tired from medical staff, public security officers and other public officials. I want to make a little effort. If everyone contributes, I believe the epidemic will end sooner. As the saying goes, "The country is in trouble, and the husband is responsible". Being a man can be not great, but there must be blood.

Beiqing Daily: Aren't you afraid of being infected?

Huang Chunming: We deliver medical supplies and contact first-line medical care. The risk factor is larger than the average volunteer team. I was also nervous at first, but after seeing the medical staff, I thought, aren't they afraid? I don't think they are afraid, they have faith. In fact, as long as you protect yourself, it is not so terrible.

Beiqing Daily: How do you feel in the volunteer team?

Huang Chunming: I made a few good friends in the team. Some team members made delicious food and would bring me a little bit. As soon as I saw you, I felt very warm and felt that we were a group of like-minded people working together.

Beiqing Daily: Are there any friends who don't support you?

Huang Chunming: Relatives and friends would ask me, "Why so stupid?" I said that I didn't talk about rewards, but I was doing my little bit. I want to be a good example for my son and a good example for my employees. Later, they supported me, and people in their hometown also started to give money and donate things.

Beiqing Daily: What is the biggest feeling during this period?

Huang Chunming: I have a lot of emotion, I don't think we can fall. I cried more often than ever before, and felt sad when I heard my child call my dad. In fact, I was also afraid. What would happen to my wife and children if I fell down? But I feel that with this experience, my future life will be brighter.

Beiqing Daily: Do you have any plans to wait for the epidemic to pass?

Huang Chunming: If it is unsealed later, I want to send my two business managers back to help plant the seeds so that the farmers can work. Because our company has 36 poor households that have not started construction in these two months, it means that their children's tuition and family life cannot be guaranteed. I want to secure their rations.

Now I am learning how to make hot noodles. A friend recorded a video to teach me to do it. When the epidemic is over, I want to eat hot and dry noodles in Wuhan. After returning to Guangdong, make a bowl of hot noodles for the family.
