In "L'Équipée sauvage", the actor Kad Merad revealed behind the scenes of the rehearsals for "Amis", a new play where he is playing alongside Claudia Tagbo and Lionel Abelanski, from March 3. Since it is difficult to test the comic replicas in an empty room, the actors have found solutions to rehearse in a good mood. Kad Merad says for example that latecomers must dance the zouk, glued-tightly, in case of delay.

INTERVIEW

Claudia Tagbo, Kad Merad and Lionel Abelanski are playing from March 3 of the play Amis at the Théâtre de La Michodière, in Paris. At the microphone of Matthieu Noël, Kad Merad told about the preparations for the play on Friday. He notably mentioned a fairly original sanction intended for actors who arrive late during rehearsals.

Currently rehearsing Amis , Kad Merad notes that it is difficult to test the comic replicas of the play. "It's hell. The more, the better the more depressed you are," he says, laughing. "The technicians have their noses in their documents so no one is laughing any more and there is no one in the room."

A dose of "incredible" text

To counter this problem, the actors have found some solutions. One of them requires great concentration. "You have to imagine that the audience laughs," he explains, adding that at this stage, the actors are still focusing on the text. Because, "the dose of text that the three of us have is incredible," he says. Another possibility is to bring people into the room. "I'm going to bring my family, including my fifteen-year-old son, but it's going to be very intimate," he said.

During rehearsals, the atmosphere is still good. Kad Merad says, for example, that an original sanction applies to late comedians. "They are liable to the penalty of close bond," he said. A punishment which generally takes place on zouk, and more precisely on the famous title of the group Kassav, Zouk la se sel medikaman nou ni . "You don't know this song? It's a hymn, it's intoxicating!" Rejoices Kad Merad.
