At present, only a responsible publisher or the company itself can be dropped by the Review Board, which checks whether the content of radio and television programs follows the rules that exist for the broadcasts. Linus Bylund believes that this should also apply to individual journalists.

- I want to see more personalized reprisal opportunities for the Review Board. There are people who are responsible for the content of the respective programs. There must be a personal responsibility, says Linus Bylund to the magazine Focus and continues:

- I am not saying that we should kick out every journalist who does not do what I say. It is obvious. But it must be there. If you violate your powers as an employee of the people's media channel and deceive the people, because it is an anti-democratic act - to spread fake news, to take a position in what is perceived as news - then you abuse the very heavy confidence that the people have been given for people's money and not for pushing public opinion, says Linus Bylund to Focus.

S: "Politicians should not attack media"

Lawen Redar, the Social Democrats' cultural policy spokesperson, tells the Culture News that the Swedish Democrats are "propagating" to get people to question the public service's objectivity and impartiality. She believes that by extension, it is about wanting to change people's thinking about free journalism.

- That you should not rely on facts, science or qualitative journalism. This, in the long run, becomes a danger to democracy.

"Media should review politicians, it's not politicians who will attack media," she says.

Wanted to call public service managers to Parliament

Last week, the Culture News reported that the Swedish Democrats, in a meeting with the Parliament's Culture Committee, said that they want to call the heads of public service companies. This is when it was considered that individual programs broke the issue of bias.

SVT's CEO Hanna Stjärne commented on the criticism:

“Of course, it is free to criticize, discuss and reject what SVT does. But politicians have a responsibility to respect the system and keep arm's distance to independent media companies who are tasked with reviewing them. It is clearly formulated in the broadcasting state. "

The cultural news is looking for Linus Bylund and the Swedish Democrats.
