In the New York court, the jury passed a verdict in the case of the famous film producer (92 films, many Oscars) and the equally famous libertine (more than 80 actors accused him of dirty harassment) of Harvey Weinstein.

Seeing the current 67-year-old relaxed producer walking with a walker, it's hard to even believe how violent the monster of debauchery he was, according to Hollywood beauties. Debauchery, they claim, was so strong that it is not even clear when he still had time to produce pictures.

Of course, the final verdict was weaker than the most zealous representatives of the anti-corruption movement Me Too wanted. Of the more than 80 applicants, only two were recognized as victims of harassment, and celebrities like Angelina Jolie were not at all scolded. Either they didn’t have anything forbidden with Weinstein, but there was a false announcement, or the producer skillfully swept the tracks.

The qualification of the deed was also softer than the bloodthirsty desired. He was cleared of a very serious charge of “predatory sexual violence”, as well as of the charge of “rape of the first degree”, that is, using technical means (dagger, gun), as well as committed with penetration into someone else’s premises. All that remained was unskilled rape of the third degree, that is, without aggravating.

But although Weinstein escaped the most terrible articles, and the rape group shrank more than forty times compared to the end of 2017, when complaints about his monstrous debauchery were unstoppable, the current, milder version for him means the end of everything. Now he is shining from five to 25 years old, he is ruined, deprived of all ranks and awards, his wife is gone, life is broken. Such was the finale of creative love of life.

Moreover, he was hardly a divine old man worthy of lifetime canonization. The prodigal demon is generally strong, but in the creative environment he is strong. You can recall the deceased, as well as the surviving domestic satyrs, who perfectly managed to combine speeches about the high morality and magical power of art with the unsatisfied feminism. Not only Weinstein pursued the actors - this tendency is generally peculiar to the bosses of art.

Yes, and Hollywood was not originally the place in which the hermit fathers and wives were pure.

And the fathers are very vicious, and wives are not without sin. If Hollywood was appreciated, it was not at all for the high morality of employees, but for the ability to create high-quality dreams from celluloid. “For me it’s better to drink, but it’s better.”

And in general: if under Soviet party committees, debauchery among filmmakers bloomed lushly (Ilf and Petrov wrote about the directors ’custom as an ordinary matter, and director I. A. Pyryev generally became famous as an unusually malicious male, etc.), why was Hollywood supposed to remain an oasis of purity in the perky world of cinema?

But, obviously, the time has come when the feminist community, in the original Obkomov manner, hit the table with its fist and announced: “We will smash this business!” Further it turned out as in the Pushkin poem "Angelo":

Between the laws forgotten at that time

There was one cruel: this law spoke

Adulter death. Such a sentence

In that city no one remembered, did not hear.

Moody Angelo in the bulk of the code

I opened it - and in fear of the city

Again he was brought into the world for execution,

Strictly speaking to his assistants:

"It's time for us to scare evil."

Weinstein was chosen as a hangover, to whom neither fame nor merit had helped the US Democratic Party, of which he had always been a generous patron. Once again, Hugo’s exact observation came true, comparing the English (now American) law with a tiger paw, in which soft pillows hide sharp claws ready for use at any time.

Moreover, the citizens of the Shining City are not accustomed to mass hysteria. Salem witches, raids on the Bolsheviks in 1920, Senator McCarthy’s commission - the fight against Hollywood libertines is quite in line with the tradition that requires American society to periodically go crazy.

But in Hollywood now everything will be politically correct and correct, and only ideologically seasoned dreams will be allowed into the creative process, with one glance at which depraved thoughts disappear, like wax from the face of fire.
