With "Dahab Aira" and "Street 13", the Syrian artist Joumana Murad returns to the scene after the absence of several years, revealing in her dialogue with "Emirates Today" about the reasons for getting away, and not retiring as some have described, explaining that she found herself in the midst of a continuous work So she decided to give herself a break and a chance to start a family.

Joumana Murad denied what was said about her retirement and then returning: «I did not retire from art, and those were tendentious rumors, and even when I moved away, I did not announce my retirement; I knew that I would be away for a short period and I will return, and I did so .. I wanted to give myself and my personal life some time, so I decided to get married and have a son (Muhammad). ”

The Syrian star recounted the story of her son's naming, saying: “My father was visiting the Hijazi lands, and in Medina he saw in his dream that I gave birth to a child named Muhammad, and that was at the beginning of my marriage. He called me and told me about his vision, so I decided as soon as the pregnancy occurred that my name would be (Muhammad), if I gave birth to a boy. ”

"Sometimes the artist forgets his private life in the midst of the work and the race we are living in. So I paid attention to the idea that it was time to start a family, and then I went back to work at the right time," Joumana added.

On the changes in her personality and her choices after marriage and childbearing, she explained: «Maybe the pause sometimes makes us review ourselves in a lot of things, and we are going through a more mature stage at the level of selection .. But I generally choose my roles carefully and do not like rushing, and I strive to present all What is new, and after my return I became more willing to disagree and offer surprises in my roles at all levels. ”

Surprise

About her participation with the Egyptian actress Yousra in her new series, Joumana said: “I found a very appropriate scenario, which is the series (Dahab Aira) or (the reader of the cup), as the final name has not been settled yet, and I was very excited because I will cooperate for the first time with the star The big Yousra, whom I had hoped to cooperate with for a long time, is a legend for me and has a special charisma that sets her apart from any star in the Arab world. ”

And I continued: «One of my reasons for my enthusiasm to return with this work is that the paper is written very well, and the topic has not been raised before in Arab drama, and the series contains a surprise in every episode; therefore I will not be able to disclose my role, but I promise everyone that there will be an important shift that will happen from During this work. ”

On the director of "Dahab Aira", Sameh Abdel Aziz, who described it as safe to work with him, she explained that Sameh believed in her talent for a while, and presented her in roles that no one dared to present in her, such as the roles of the popular girl, which are the real moves that blew up her talent in the Egyptian cinema: "Sameh Abdulaziz is the most important director in my artistic career and he has marks in my career, as he presented me in roles that I had never imagined such as my cabaret and joy." Joumana revealed that although she is primarily a drama actress, she loves cinema more and prefers it, and does not see any room for comparison between cinema and television, because the first is her first love according to her saying, even if the role is small and influential, it is better for her than a series of flogging for the leather. She stated that in the cinema, she may waive some conditions in return for a good role, but on television there may be no concessions in terms of space, production and many details.

Regarding the phenomenon of the joint Syrian-Lebanese drama, and the presence of a struggle on social networking sites about some of the strongest, Joumana said: “I did not work with this drama to judge adequately, but for some time I presented a series that brings together the nationalities of several Syrians, Lebanese and Gulf nationals, it is a series (wanted men), I do not like these classifications, and in general the cooperation between Syrian and Lebanese drama is not a recent phenomenon, all the time it exists in many forms.

In all honesty, I do not occupy myself with a comparison between the types of Arabic drama, because there is always cooperation between all. ”

Wonderful actresses

Do you prefer working in Syrian or Lebanese drama now? .. A question answered by Joumana by saying: “I currently prefer working in Egypt, acting in it more than anywhere else, whether Lebanese or Syrian drama or cinema.” She expressed her grief over the lack of interest in Arab cinema in general regarding women in terms of starring roles. “It is sad that at the height of cinema brilliance and its huge revenues, we do not find women's championships and an escalation of the role of women, although we have talented and wonderful actresses, but unfortunately the authors write only the important roles for men, They see the woman as just a snid, and in the best case it is a man’s participation in the tournament. ”

Regarding her opinion about the Syrian cinema, Joumana said: “In the past, the old Syrian cinema did not attract me or underestimate me, and I did not find myself in it; but finally there is a real breakthrough in all the vocabulary of Syrian cinema in terms of industry and topics, and I am very pleased with the progress that has occurred, to the extent that cinema The Syrian has reached the international level, and this is something honorable and proud of us all. ”

Happy with “13th Street”

Regarding her new cinematic work, "Street 13", the artist Joumana Murad indicated that he belonged to the acts of horror, which is the first Egyptian movie (3D), and it was implemented in a way that you will not imagine in the Arab world, as it matches the international level, and when I saw the film after implementation, I believe myself. ” And she continued: «The film was produced and directed by Wael Abdullah, with whom I collaborated more than once in the cinema, and he is a veteran director and producer, and one of the most important people on the Egyptian and Arab scene, and a large number of artists participate in the action, including: Sherif Mounir, Ahmed Dawoud, Dina El-Sherbiny and Arwa Quality, and others. I play the role of a guest of honor, but the participation is very pivotal and important, and I am extremely happy with it, and the date of the film has not been set yet. ”

• “Unfortunately, the authors only write important roles to men, and they see women as just a bond.”

• “Happy working with Yusra, she is a legend for me, and she has a special charisma that sets her apart from any star.”
