You will be even more careful about what you eat after discovering this study revealed by Columbia University. Science has found foods that can help fight depression. GQ magazine tells us about it.

It is well known, our intestine is our "second brain". Not only what is on our plates influences our physical health but also our mental health. This is obviously explained by the different nutrients they contain ... or not. For example: iron, magnesium, vitamins or even fatty acids and other sympathetic omega-3. Nutrients which could therefore naturally influence our well-being.

Eat vegetables and seafood to fight depression

Columbia University lists 40 antidepressant foods. In 39th place… the snail! From 26th to 38th place, there are mainly seafood such as cod, tuna or octopus. The oyster is doing much better, placing itself in 9th place. The strawberry is 25th, the Brussels sprout, 19th.

Among the best foods to fight against depression, there are chard in 5th position and lettuce in 4th. The bronze medal goes to the turnip and the spinach is second. And on the first step of the podium: the watercress.

Conversely, a sugary diet would increase symptoms such as irritability, mood changes or fatigue.
