The first Frenchman died after being infected with the new coronavirus, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday in Paris, announced on Wednesday the Ministry of Health, according to which it is a 60-year-old man.

He had been "tested in emergency yesterday (Tuesday) at the hospital of Pitié-Salpêtrière in a very serious state and died in the night", announced the general director of health Jérôme Salomon. A previous patient had already died in France, an 80-year-old Chinese tourist.

Two other cases confirmed in France

Two other cases have also been confirmed in France. Among them, there is a 55-year-old man hospitalized in Amiens who is "in a serious clinical situation", explained Jérôme Salomon, during a press conference.

The second case is a 36-year-old man hospitalized in Strasbourg, "he returns from Lombardy and shows no signs of seriousness," he adds.
