Why this book?

  • Because this novel intrigues for several reasons. This paranoid thriller questions its reader about the multiple ways to monitor and be monitored: whether by a government to obtain sensitive information, by your own family when you are children or when you are adults and no one has more confidence in your reasoning, by strangers afraid of your origins or your faith. We are constantly spied on for our good or our landfill and the consequences on our privacy can be catastrophic.
  • Because the author also tries to make us strive towards a more tolerant world. After attacks, people tend to turn in on themselves and fear anyone who may be of the same community or religion as the terrorists. Likewise, any person could have their life ruined or deeply affected by hearsay or the publication of personal information.
