The Milan Fashion Week ended with the presentation of the Giorgio Armani Fall-Winter Collection 2020-2021, in a hall without an audience.

The Italian designer explained that this decision falls within the framework of the Italian government's measures, to avoid gatherings in the face of the rapid spread of the Corona virus emerging in the north of the country, which led to a number of deaths in Italy. The models presented the house's clothing in front of cameras, which were broadcasting scenes directly on social networks and the website of the Italian brand.

To pay tribute to China, the major absentee of Fashion Week, Armani concluded its presentation with 12 models of high-end fashion produced between 2009 and 2019, all inspired by this Asian country. Also, the Italian house, Laura Piaguti, offered its collection without audience a few hours before the Armani show, while Dolce A Gabbana kept its offer on Sunday.

The entrance to the old "Metropole" cinema, which hosts all Italian shows, was less crowded than usual. But a very small audience, loyal followers of Milan Fashion Week, came to the scene, armed with phones to film shows and some guests.

"We have been waiting for this event for months and we will not give in to panic, in addition to that we young people seem to be more resistant to the virus," said Valentina, 14, at the end of the show.

Around the stage, the attendees were scattered, and the seats were mostly empty, as some journalists and buyers decided to leave the place early, fearing facing some obstacles on their way or canceling flights.

The designers: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana did not want to make an official statement about the emerging Corona virus crisis in Italy, and preferred to express through their collection devoted to the Italian craftsmanship of "Fato Mano" (handcrafted). She reviewed hundreds of pieces that honored male and female workers in embroidery, sewing, lace, shoe-making and neckties, who form the basis of Italian industry skills in this field.
